Dr. Sherry Hartnett has extensive professional experience in the healthcare and marketing fields. Prior to consulting, she was Vice President, Chief Marketing & Development Officer at Baptist Health Care, a highly regarded Northwest Florida healthcare system that has been recognized as a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award winner and as one of FORTUNE Magazine’s 100 Best Places to Work. Prior to that Sherry was a marketing executive for Gannett Co., Inc., one of the world’s largest media companies; The Baltimore Sun; and Faulkner Advertising Associates, a national advertising agency based in Baltimore, MD. She has received numerous awards and recognitions for excellence in innovation and marketing leadership.

Within Gannett, Sherry repeatedly won recognition for excellence in innovation and for marketing leadership. She received the national Distinguished Marketing Achievement Award, one of the highest honors bestowed by the Newspaper Association of America’s Market Development & Promotion Federation. She has won numerous national and regional advertising awards and has been a speaker, trainer, coach and facilitator of workshops across the country.
Dr. Hartnett is a professor at the University of West Florida (UWF) and has developed and taught the following undergraduate and graduate level courses: Digital Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Internet Marketing Principles, Leadership and Management Practices, Theories of Leadership, Introduction to Business, and Professional Development. She also developed and now directs an innovative high-impact experiential learning Executive Mentor Program that provides professional development mentoring to graduate and undergraduate students. Dr. Hartnett also created, and is Chairwoman of, the highly successful annual Women in Leadership Conference at the university.
An active leader in Pensacola’s business, civic and charitable communities, Sherry has served on numerous Boards of Directors including Junior Achievement of Northwest Florida, Rotary Club of Pensacola, and United Way. Nationally, she is a member of the American Hospital Association’s Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development and the American Marketing Association.
Sherry holds a Doctorate in Business (Marketing Analytics and Organizational Learning) from Georgia State University, a Master of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University in Management and a Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University in Marketing.
